Enrollment: Consultation Based Services

How To Enroll?

We offer consultation services to families who live in the United States. We also offer services to families in some parts of Canada and Mexico, based upon staff availability. Contact the nearest treatment headquarters for more information.

We currently provide consultation-based service for:

  • Children who are up to 48 months of age at intake and who display developmental delays in one or more of the following areas: cognitive performance, language development, social skills, self-help skills, and/or other behavioral functioning.
  • Children between 48 and 96 months of age at intake who obtain a score of 50 or above on the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence-Revised (WPPSI-R) or on the Stanford-Binet Scales of Intelligence.
  • Children older than eight years of age may be considered on an individual basis.

Please note: We do not have personnel qualified to teach children diagnosed with any additional major medical conditions such as blindness, significant hearing loss, uncontrolled seizures, Rett's Disorder and/or severe delays in motor development. Occasionally, we do accept such children on a trial basis and work closely with other professionals or specialists to ensure that all of your child's needs are addressed.

How To Enroll

To apply for consultation-based services, PLEASE MAIL:*

A psychological evaluation including your child's diagnosis information, and

A video of your child. The video should be 30 minutes to an hour in length, on either videotape or DVD. Any format of tape is accepted, although VHS tapes are still typically the most reliable. The video should include a combination (but not necessarily all) of the following:

  • time when your child is left alone,
  • time when parents or siblings interact with your child,
  • any time your child receives some form of therapy, any specific behavior issues.

If necessary, a recent medical evaluation may be requested for additional information.

* Find the mailing address for your state.

We no longer require standardized psychological assessments (e.g. Bayley Scales of Infant Development or the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales) for acceptance into our consultation services. However, it is strongly recommended that your child be assessed before treatment.

What to expect

Once this information is received, we will schedule a telephone interview. After that, your child's information will be reviewed for approval into the program. If your child meets eligibility criteria, you will be assigned a consultant. Your consultant is chosen based on location, availability, and your child's needs.
